About Howe Bay Beach House
A private oceanfront vacation home in Eastern PEI, designed for big views, slow mornings, and unforgettable low-tide walks.
Who We Are
A PEI Oceanfront Retreat Built for the View
Howe Bay Beach House is a private, oceanfront vacation rental near Souris, Prince Edward Island, set on a quiet stretch of coastline where the scenery changes with every tide. We fell in love with Howe Bay more than 20 years ago, and we still catch ourselves stopping mid-sentence to watch the water move across the red sand flats.
What guests talk about most is how exceptional the swimming and paddling are here. When the tide drops, a wide world opens up: guests love to paddle the canoe or kayaks across the deep channel to the vast sandbars that appear across the bay. At low tide, the sandbars are dotted with warm little pools—perfect for kids to splash and jump in—while grownups wander, explore, and take in the view. Another favourite? Floating with the current in the channel, then hopping back onto the sandbars and walking back along the shoreline.
We also love how much life this bay holds. It’s common to spot seals stretched out on the sandbars (sometimes 20 or more), popping up to keep an eye on you as you paddle closer. Eagles soar overhead, and guests have spotted rabbits and foxes along the dunes and coastal edges. Birders especially enjoy Howe Bay—more than 35 species have been identified by guests over the years.
Our home was designed to bring the shoreline indoors—windows and sliding doors along the ocean side create a front-row seat to wide skies, sea breezes, and golden evenings. Whether you’re planning a family week, a milestone getaway, or a relaxed trip with friends, this is a place to settle in and truly exhale.

About Our Accommodation
Inside the Beach House
The Beach House combines coastal comfort with “stay awhile” practicality. You’ll find open living areas, high wood ceilings, and cozy spaces for gathering—plus quiet corners for reading, puzzles, or a mid-afternoon nap with the ocean in the background.
For cooks (and snack-assemblers), the kitchen is set up for real meals: a large work island with an ocean view, quality appliances, and the room you need when everyone wants to help.
Outdoors is where the magic happens: a cedar sun deck, a screened-in porch, and a covered veranda that make it easy to follow the sun—or find shade—throughout the day. And for time on the water, we provide kayaks, a large canoe, and lifejackets, so you can make the most of Howe Bay’s calm conditions and changing tides.
